FAQ

Questions, answered

What parents and students usually ask before joining ECA Academy.

Still have a question?

Call us, send an email, or visit us opposite Chabahil Stupa, Sunday to Friday.

What is the full form of ECA Academy?

ECA stands for Extra Curricular Activities Academy.

Do I pay a separate admission fee for each class?

No. You pay the admission fee only once, when you enrol. If you join more classes or switch classes later, there is no separate admission fee: one admission fee covers every class ECA offers.

Do I have to pay before classes start?

The admission fee must be paid before classes formally start. However, you can take 2 to 3 demo classes before paying the monthly fee.

How long does it take to learn an instrument?

There is no set answer. It varies from student to student and depends on the individual, their age and how much they practise. With regular practice, a basic level of playing can be reached within a few months. Most of our students learn long term because they enjoy the lessons and want to keep improving.

How much should I practise?

We recommend a minimum of 15 minutes a day, six days a week. Short practice sessions several times a day work much better than long sessions a few times a week. For young children, practice goes better when a parent supervises.

Can I sit in on my child’s lesson?

Yes, we have an open-door policy and you can sit in whenever you like. Some students work better with a parent in the room while others find it distracting, so the teacher will advise you once they know your child.

What if my child doesn’t enjoy their instrument?

They can try another instrument at any time; it is better to try something else than to end up disliking music. It does take a few months to reach a basic level, so we suggest giving an instrument at least 2 months before switching.

Can I take just one month of lessons?

Yes. We don’t require semester minimums: you can enrol month to month or by semester. One month is usually too short to give lessons a fair chance, though, much like going to the gym.

Is there parking?

Although we are in one of the country’s prime locations, we have sufficient parking for two-wheelers. We don’t have parking for cars.
